  1. Open the Finder application and browse to Applications.
  2. Scroll down to Toolbars and click on.
  3. Double-click on Uninstall.
  4. Fill in the User name and Password and click the OK button.

How do I clear the Java cache on Windows?

This article applies to:

  • Platform(s): Windows 7, Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 2003
  • Java version(s): 6.0
Clearing the Java Plug-in cache forces the browser to load the latest versions of web pages and programs.
To clear the Java Plug-in cache:
  1. Click Start > Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the Java icon in the control panel. The Java Control Panel appears.
  3. Click Settings under Temporary Internet Files.
    The Temporary Files Settings dialog box appears.
  4. Click Delete Files.
    The Delete Temporary Files dialog box appears.
  5. Click OK on Delete Temporary Files window.
    Note: This deletes all the Downloaded Applications and Applets from the cache.

  6. Click OK on Temporary Files Settings window.
    Note: If you want to delete a specific application and applet from the cache, click on View Application and View Applet options respectively.

How do I clear the Java cache on Mac?

  1. Open the Macintosh Hard Drive
  2. Go into the Applications Folder
  3. Open the Utilities Folder
  4. Double-click on the Java Preferences icon


    A new window will open:
  5. Click on the Network Tab and select Delete Files
  6. A new window will open, asking: Delete the following temporary files? Make sure Applications and Applets as well as Trace and Log Files are selected. Press OK.
  7. Next, you should UNCHECK the ‘Keep temporary files for fast access’. This will allow the use of Chat in Safari.
